Alex J. Barrio is a Cuban-American political strategist, advocate, and writer based in DC.

His unpublished novel, HAVANA VENGEANCE, was Longlisted in the 2024 Hawkeye Publishing Manuscript Development Prize.
He was also a Stowe Story Labs Fall 2024 Screenwriting Fellow for his unproduced feature screenplay “Burning Badges”.
In 2025 he made the short film “ICE in the Veins” as part of the DC Public Library’s “Five-Minute Horror Film” Workshop and is currently working on his 2026 short, “The Alien Argument”.
